Learn what Texas law requires for trailer inspections

The state of Texas requires an annual safety inspection for all trailers with a gross weight of 4500 pounds. This means if you own a travel, dual-axle, utility, hunting or boat trailer, you probably need to get a safety inspection. C & M Discount Tires Inc is certified to perform trailer inspections.

Because we want to make this process as convenient as possible, we don't require any appointments. Come in any time during our regular operating hours:

  • Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

What's involved in a trailer or motorcycle inspection?

After verifying your proof of insurance and vehicle identification number, we'll inspect your motorcycle or trailer for a working:

  • Horn
  • Mirror
  • Steering system
  • Brake system
  • Wheel assembly
  • Exhaust system
  • Tail lamp
  • Stop lamp
  • License plate lamp
  • Head lamp
  • Rear red reflector
